WEEE Directive

The purpose of Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is, as a first priority, the prevention of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), and in addition, the reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery of such wastes so as to reduce the disposal of waste. It also seeks to improve the environmental performance of all operators involved in the life cycle of electrical and electronic equipment, e.g. producers, distributors and consumers and in particular those operators directly involved in the treatment of waste electrical and electronic equipment. Should you have any questions about the date of manufacture of any of our serialized equipment, please contact Customer Service at Printronix, The Netherlands, Tel: (31) 24 6489589 and provide the serial number for decoding.

REACH Directive

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, EC No 1907/2006) are the new EU chemicals regulations which were introduced on June 1, 2007 with an implementation deadline of 2018.

REACH enforces review of the properties of chemicals, identifying the associated health and environmental risks and ensures that information is communicated to suppliers and downstream users in the EU market. The objective of the REACH regulations are to promote phased substitution of the most dangerous substances.

Printronix has ensured that its suppliers have taken necessary action to meet the requirements of REACH to ensure the Printronix products can continue to be supplied in the EU.  This includes, where required, pre-registration of substances.  We will continue to comply with the requirements of REACH including assuring that all necessary registrations are completed.

Printronix suppliers have reviewed the SVHC concern list posted on the ECHA web site.  Printronix articles contain no SVHC above the concentration limit of 0.1%.

RoHS Directive

The purpose of Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment is to approximate the laws of the Member States on the restrictions of the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment and to contribute to the protection of human health and the environmentally sound recovery and disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
